of the organization could not be found as old records were
allegedly destroyed by termites. Base on previous reports,
it is revealed that this Command was organized at the
Capitol Building, Vigan, Ilocos Sur sometime in the year
1901. Then it was transferred to Barangay Tamag, Vigan,
Ilocos Sur where it was named Camp President Elpidio R
Quirino. In the year 1972, the municipality of Bantay under
the Administration of Mayor Amado Mendoza, donated six (6)
hectares of land to the AFP situated in Bulag, Bantay,
Ilocos Sur, this facilitated the construction of a new
administrative building for the Ilocos Sur Constabulary
Command, now renamed Ilocos Sur PNP Command. The Command was
transferred to its present site on 30 October 1974.
This Headquarters was constructed on 5 April 1974 during the tour
of duty of Major Benjamin Aguinaldo, the incumbent
Provincial Commander. The lot presently occupied has a land
area of six (6) hectares and it was donated by the
municipality of Bantay, Ilocos Sur during the administration
of Mayor Amado Mendoza, sometime in 1973.
At present
this Office was manned by fifty-eight (58) PCOs and eight
hundred twenty-six (826) PNCOs under the leadership of
Police Senior Superintendent VIRGILIO GAGARIN FABROS
(DSC)
as Provincial Director. Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office
since September 10, 2007. It has two (2) Provincial Mobile
Group, two (2) City Police Stations and thirty two (32)
Municipal Police Stations out of this thirteen (13) are
located in upland Municipalities.
